The long, sheltered inland lake between Whitehall and Montague — flat water for pontoons, paddling, and sailing lessons when the big lake says no.
White Lake channel — White River Light Station
The White Lake channel is a narrow dredged cut — single-file traffic and little room to maneuver. Current is mild (the White River is small), but onshore west wind still piles chop at the outer mouth.
Live outflow: 266 cfs (White River (Whitehall)) — higher outflow means a stronger seaward current in the channel, roughest against an onshore wind.
