The St. Joseph River pushes a real seaward current between the piers — one of the strongest on the east shore, firmer after rain. Against an onshore W/SW wind expect steep, stacked chop at the mouth.
Live outflow: 2,380 cfs (St. Joseph River (Niles)) — higher outflow means a stronger seaward current in the channel, roughest against an onshore wind.
